Students will explore, create, and taste experiments as they learn how to make things happen and …..why they do! Each week will be different, so join us for one or both. Bricks 4 Kidz is offering two different summer camps here at GCS. Their programs provide an exciting atmosphere for students to build unique creations, play games, and have loads of fun using LEGO® bricks. Please read the descriptions below to learn about the two different camps being offered this summer.
CAMP #1: Space Adventures Camp with Lego®(Ages 6+), June 25-29, 9AM to Noon, - Inspired by NASA and Star Wars™, our Space Adventures Camp is packed full of models that will make your imagination blast off! Each day, campers will learn about real-life space exploration and build models related to the NASA space program. In addition, the day includes LEGO® Star Wars™ themed models, group games, challenges and more. Bricks 4 Kidz Space Adventure camp provides the spark for imagination and creativity to take off on an adventure that’s out of this world! CAMP #2: Movie Making Camp with Lego® (Ages 7+), July 23-27, 9AM -Noon – Lights, cameras, action! Use LEGO® bricks to tell YOUR story complete with music, special effects and all of your favorite LEGO® mini-figure characters! In this unique and creative camp, students will plan, script, stage, shoot and produce their own mini-movie using Stop Motion Animation. Working as a team, students will use LEGO® bricks and components to build the set and props, then, shoot their movie using a digital camera. Teams will use movie-making software to add special effects, titles, credits and more. When the movie is complete, campers will impress friends and family with a screening party on the last day of camp. Don’t miss your chance to be in the movies! (student campers will take a copy of their movie home on their own Bricks 4 Kidz USB). Campers will meet Monday through Friday from 9:00-12:00 or 1:00-4:00. Parents are invited to a special screening party at 11:30 on Friday. |

Our wonderful Art Teacher, Mrs. Bettwy, is hosting the Mixed Media Madness Art Camp for students *K-6th Grade. If you have any friends, neighbors or relatives that are interested in enrolling, they are more than welcome! Students will be drawing and painting, along with doing other creative arts and crafts projects that include the use of chalk, pastels, water colors, and some basic photography. Back by popular demand, students are asked to bring a t-shirt or pillowcase for tie dying, and wear clothes that can get dirty by art mediums. Camp dates are August 6-10, 9:00AM to Noon, in the GCS Art Room #213. The cost is $165.00 (supply fee included). Sign up today and bring a friend! (*Incoming Kindergartners upon approval). |
